Battered Waifu is a robotic love pillow which endlessly thrusts and grinds itself into a bare mattress mounted to the wall.
One time, my mom got totally freaked out when she read an article about some men and their dakimakura in the New York Times magazine. I was into animé too, and for me to have even a tenuous association with those guys really disturbed her.
I made this piece along with Unagi for Fever Dreams, my 1st year MFA solo show at UCLA.
